ESTABLISHING A LONG LASTING SPACE COLONY ON MARS
The Space colony should be designed to achieve equilibrium with its natural ecosystem to be long lasting. We need to account for the unique environmental and resource constraints of the planet. One way to do this is by designing the colony's infrastructure to mimic natural ecosystems, such as using closed-loop life support systems that recycle and regenerate resources. Additionally, the colony should prioritize the use of local resources and materials. To ensure long-term sustainability, the colony should also be prioritizing the preservation and restoration of the Martian environment, as well as prioritize the health and well-being of the colonists. By adhering to the natural law of growth, we can create a self-sustaining colony that can thrive on Mars for generations to come.
IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THAT I STUDIES THE NATURAL LAW OF GROWTH I.E. EXPONENTIALS AND SPIRALS
This study focuses on the natural patterns of expansion and evolution, where growth occurs in an accelerating, exponential manner, and then reaches a limit, leading to a new phase of growth in a spiral pattern. This pattern can be observed in everything from the growth of populations to the evolution of species and the cycles of the seasons, highlighting the interconnectedness and interdependence of all living systems.


BY UNDERSTANDING AND APPLYING THESE PRINCIPLES, WE CAN BETTER PREDICT AND MANAGE THE GROWTH OF NATURAL SYSTEMS, AS WELL AS DESIGN SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES AND PRACTICES THAT ALIGN WITH THE NATURAL LAW OF GROWTH.
MY INSPIRATION DERIVED FROM THE SPRIAL PHYLLOTAXIS
While studying the natural law of growth i learnt that nature uses numerous different logarithmic spiral patterns. One of which is the spiral phyllotaxis, which states that each new element of a plant grows at an angular offset of 137.5 degrees. This is where nature found balance, these patterns help with equal distribution of resources to ensure a long and sustainable growth.
This helped build the foundation to the ideation process and I attempted to apply this law to create a sustainable and long lasting space habitat.
